NOVENA DIVINE MERCY
Sign of the cross
The daily intentions for the Divine Mercy Novena are as follows:
Day 1 (Good Friday): All mankind, especially sinners. This day focuses on immersing all people, particularly sinners, in the ocean of Jesus' mercy to console Him in His grief over lost souls
Day 2 (Holy Saturday): The souls of priests and religious. These individuals are prayed for as they gave Jesus strength during His Passion and are channels through which His mercy flows to humanity
Day 3 (Easter Sunday): All devout and faithful souls. These souls brought consolation to Jesus on the Way of the Cross and are immersed in His mercy
Day 4 (Easter Monday): Those who do not believe in God and those who do not yet know Jesus. Jesus thought of these souls during His Passion, and their future zeal comforted Him
Day 5 (Easter Tuesday): The souls of those who have separated themselves from the Church. Jesus stated that as these souls return to unity with the Church, His wounds heal, alleviating His Passion
Day 6 (Easter Wednesday): The meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. These souls most closely resemble Jesus' Heart, strengthened Him during His agony, and receive torrents of grace
Day 7 (Easter Thursday): The souls who especially venerate and glorify Jesus' mercy. These souls sorrowed most over His Passion, entered deeply into His spirit, and will shine with special brightness in the next life
Day 8 (Easter Friday): The souls who are detained in Purgatory. Jesus desires His Blood to cool their scorching flames, and encourages offering indulgences and spiritual alms for their relief
Day 9 (Easter Saturday): The souls who have become lukewarm. These souls wound Jesus' Heart most painfully, causing Him great suffering in the Garden of Olives, and their last hope of salvation is to flee to His mercy
Divine mercy prayer: On the cross
You died, Jesus, but the source of life flowed out for souls and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fountain of Life, immeasurable Divine Mercy, cover the whole world and empty yourself out upon us. O Blood and Water which flowed out from the heart of Jesus as a Fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You! Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and the whole world. (1x) Jesus, King of Mercy, we trust in You!
