Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima
O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the Rosary and Mother of Mercy, we come to you with hearts full of love and devotion.
You appeared to the shepherd children at Fatima, calling all to prayer, penance, and conversion. Obtain for us the grace to turn away from sin, to embrace God’s will, and to live lives of faith, hope, and charity.
Help us to pray the Rosary faithfully, to offer our sacrifices for the salvation of souls, and to bring peace to our families, our Church, and our world.
O Mary, Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
This prayer is often recited to honor the Marian apparitions in Fatima, Portugal, where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children—Lúcia Santos, Francisco Marto, and Jacinta Marto—in 1917. During these apparitions, Our Lady of Fatima, also known as Our Lady of the Rosary, urged the children to pray the Rosary daily for world peace and the end of war. She also shared three secrets, which included a vision of Hell, a prophecy regarding the end of World War I and the beginning of World War II, and a vision concerning the Holy Father. The apparitions and their messages were officially approved by the Holy See in 1930. The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima is celebrated annually on May 13th.
Another prayer frequently associated with Our Lady of Fatima, often recited at the end of each decade of the Rosary, is: "O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen."
Many novenas and devotional prayers also invoke Our Lady of Fatima for various intentions, seeking her intercession for peace, an end to suffering, humility, and trust in God. These prayers often reflect themes from the messages of Fatima, such as the importance of the Rosary, repentance, and consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
OTHER PRAYER : "O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the most holy Rosary, you were pleased to appear to the children of Fatima and reveal a glorious message. We implore you, inspire in our hearts a fervent love for the recitation of the Rosary. By meditating on the mysteries of the redemption that are recalled therein may we obtain the graces and virtues that we ask, through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen."
