Prayer to Saint Dominic Savio

O holy Saint Dominic Savio, joyful servant of God and shining example of youthful holiness, you loved the Eucharist and served faithfully at the altar of the Lord.

Obtain for all Altar Knights the grace to serve with reverence, humility, and joy. Help them to grow in purity of heart, obedience in faith, and courage in doing what is right. Teach them to love Jesus deeply in the Blessed Sacrament and to honor Him by their words and actions.

Intercede for young people, that they may resist temptation, choose virtue, and walk always in the path of holiness. Strengthen their desire to serve God faithfully and to be a light to others through their example.

Saint Dominic Savio, patron of Altar Knights and youth, pray for us.

Saint Dominic Savio is recognized as the patron saint of choirboys, the falsely accused, and juvenile delinquents. He is one of the youngest canonized saints, having died at the age of fourteen. His life, though brief, was marked by profound piety and a strong desire for holiness, which he pursued through frequent reception of the sacraments and diligent performance of his duties. He was a student of Saint John Bosco, who later wrote a biography of Dominic, contributing significantly to his canonization. Dominic Savio's feast day is May 6th.

OTHER PRAYER : "Dear Saint Dominic, you spent your short life totally for love of Jesus and His Mother. Help youth today to realize the importance of God in their lives. You became a saint through fervent participation in the sacraments, enlighten parents and children to the importance of frequent confession and Holy Communion. At a young age you meditated on the sorrowful Passion of Our Lord. Obtain for us the grace of a fervent desire to suffer for love of Him. We desperately need your intercession to protect today's children from the snares of the world. Watch over them and lead them on the narrow road to Heaven. Ask God to give us the grace to sanctify our daily duties by performing them perfectly out of love for Him. Remind us of the necessity of practicing virtue especially in times of trial. Saint Dominic Savio, you who preserved your Baptismal innocence of heart, pray for us."
