Prayers of Liberation from Evil Spirits

Updated: Dec 16, 2025

Prayer for Protection Against Evil

Heavenly Father, I come to You seeking protection from all evil. Surround me with Your holy angels, cover me with the blood of Jesus, and shield me from every attack of the evil one. Strengthen my faith, renew my courage, and fill me with Your peace and light. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Prayer for Deliverance from Evil Spirits

Lord Jesus, You triumphed over Satan, sin, and all darkness. I ask You to cast out every evil spirit that seeks to harm me, and break every chain of oppression and fear. Cleanse my heart and mind, fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your light and love reign within me forever. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend me in battle. Be my protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, I humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who roam the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Short Daily Prayer of Spiritual Protection

Lord, surround me with Your light. Keep me safe from evil, strengthen my faith, and fill me with Your peace and grace. Amen.

Prayers of liberation from evil spirits are spiritual practices rooted in Christian belief, aimed at seeking divine intervention to remove or counteract negative spiritual influences. These prayers are based on the understanding that evil spirits, often referred to as demons or satanic forces, exist and can attempt to disrupt human lives. The Bible, particularly the Gospels, describes Jesus Christ's encounters with and authority over such spirits, and this authority is believed to have been passed on to His followers.

The core of these prayers involves invoking the name and authority of Jesus Christ, often combined with appeals to the Holy Spirit, the blood of Jesus, and the intercession of saints and angels, to bind, rebuke, and cast out evil spirits, break curses, and establish divine protection.

Several types of prayers are utilized for liberation and protection:

Deliverance Prayers

Deliverance prayers are a powerful form of spiritual healing, acknowledging the existence of evil and exercising faith in God's power over it. These prayers often involve:

  • Pleading the blood of Jesus Christ for protection over oneself, family, home, and other areas of life. This is believed to create a spiritual barrier against evil influences.

  • Binding spirits, powers, and forces of darkness in the name of Jesus, commanding them to go to the feet of Jesus. This act is rooted in the biblical concept of spiritual authority given to believers.

  • Rebuking and breaking curses, hexes, spells, and demonic activity that may have been sent or passed down through generations. This includes renouncing negative inner vows and cutting off ungodly relationships.

  • Loosing the Holy Spirit and holy angels to cleanse areas where evil has had a foothold and to fill those areas with God's life and love.

Prayers Against Oppression and Generational Spirits

Specific prayers target different manifestations of spiritual attack:

  • Prayers against oppression aim to reclaim authority over aspects of one's life (e.g., income, finances, possessions) that may have been influenced by demonic forces, asking God to remove the demon's ability to affect these areas.

  • Binding prayers seek to render evil spirits impotent, paralyzed, and ineffective in seeking revenge against individuals, their families, or communities. They ask to bind and sever all evil spirits and satanic forces in various realms (air, water, ground, etc.) .

  • Perimeter prayers establish a protective boundary around individuals and their loved ones, asking for angelic guardianship and immunity from demonic influence, rendering any encroaching demons deaf, dumb, and blind.

  • Prayers to remove generational spirits address evil influences that may have entered a family line through the sins of ancestors or curses. These prayers ask for pardon for ancestral sins, freedom from demonic involvement, and the breaking of curses.

Breaking Curses and Occult Ties

Prayers for breaking curses specifically declare that Christ has redeemed believers from curses. They invoke the cross, death, blood, and resurrection of Jesus against all forms of curses, witchcraft, black arts, and blood sacrifices. This includes breaking the power of curses transferred by others, spoken words, or occult practices, and commanding demonic spirits to be banished. There are also prayers to decommission tattoos that may have demonic or evil connections, severing ties to the Evil One and purifying the ink.

Daily Protection and Cleansing

Regular prayers are encouraged for ongoing spiritual defense:

  • Wearing the Armor of God prayers draw from Ephesians 6:10-17, asking for divine help to embody truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God as spiritual armor against the enemy.

  • Cleansing prayers are used to purify oneself from any negative spiritual entanglement encountered during intercession or daily life, invoking the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit to refresh body, soul, and spirit. These can be prayed before sleep to cleanse from the day's spiritual contacts.

  • Authority prayers bind and silence powers and forces that do not accept Jesus as Lord, sealing individuals and their intentions in the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, and seeking protection from Mary and Saint Michael the Archangel.

These prayers emphasize the belief in God's ultimate authority and power over evil, and the ability of believers to access this power through faith in Jesus Christ.

OTHER PRAYER: "Jesus, my Savior, my Lord, and my God, you of the cross, redeemed us and overcame the power of Satan. I beseech you to free me from every harmful presence and influence of evil. I ask this in your name; I ask this for the sake of your wounds. I ask this through your blood; I ask this for the sake of your cross. I ask this through the intercession of Mary, Immaculate and Virgin, Our Lady of Sorrows. May the blood and water which gushed forth from your side flow down upon me to purify, free, and heal me. Amen."
