My Journey — Basic Bible Seminar (BBS)

📔 My Journey — Basic Bible Seminar (BBS)
at National Shrine Parish Divine Mercy, Sta Rosa Marilao Bulacan City.
October 17–18, 2026
✨ Day 1 — October 17
I was so excited — this is my very first time joining the Basic Bible Seminar 1, a two-day formation program held at the PPC Hall, National Shrine and Parish of Divine Mercy in Marilao, Bulacan. BBS1 is designed not as a heavy academic study, but as a beautiful spiritual journey — learning the Bible, growing in faith, and living God's word every day. It runs from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM for both days.

Everything was ready: I prepared my breakfast the night before, packed my water jug, my Bible, notebook, and pen — just as they requested. I left home at 5:00 AM and arrived by 6:30 AM. The hall was quiet, only the PPC staff were there, busily preparing food for everyone. Their kindness already felt like a warm welcome.
Slowly the hall filled up — lay ministers, commentators, members from different apostolates. They’ve been serving for years, and here I was, feeling like a total newbie. But I stayed calm. I told myself: I’m here to learn, and that’s enough.

The day began with an orientation, icebreakers, and the solemn Enthronement of the Bible. Then we had our first two talks:
- 📖 Talk 1: "The Bible as a Book" — I learned how the Bible is organized, its history, and how it’s like a library of different books
- 📖 Talk 2: "Approaches to the Bible" — practical tips on how to read and understand Scripture properly

Then came our small group sharing. That was the most beautiful part. We opened up — sharing struggles we’ve kept hidden, so others could learn and find comfort too. When it was my turn, I spoke from my heart… and I cried. But I didn’t feel embarrassed. I felt important. I realized my story matters, and what I’ve gone through can actually help someone else. That moment changed everything for me.

I met two special people — Shiela and Gian — who walked this journey right beside me. And the food — so generously served! It felt like God saying: In My house, no one goes hungry — not your body, not your soul. I went home full — in body and in spirit.
✨ Day 2 — October 18
We returned eager and ready. Today was about deepening what we received and making it our own.
- 📖 Talk 3: "The Bible as the Word of God" — I understood more deeply that this isn’t just any book — God speaks to us through it!
- 📖 Talk 4: "Our Response to the Word of God" — Learning to be doers of the Word, not just listeners
Then came the most meaningful part — the Covenant & Commissioning Ceremony. We had the Sacrament of Reconciliation, elected officers for our batch, and finally — receiving our certificates of completion. Holding that certificate felt like holding a promise: This is just the beginning.
🕊️ Closing Thoughts
BBS1 gave me more than just knowledge — it gave me courage. I learned to conquer my fears, to step forward even when I feel new or unsure. I learned that loving my neighbor means listening, sharing, and walking together — even with those who walk a different path than me.
I came as a stranger, and I left as part of a family. Shiela, Gian, and all my new brothers and sisters in Christ — thank you. And I know for sure: this is only the beginning. I will return and grow deeper still.
🕊️ "Lord, Your Word is no longer just on a page — it's in my heart. Help me to live it, share it, and love it always. Amen."
Until Next Time
